Roofglaze has introduced a range of rooflights featuring Nanogel, a translucent granular material that can improve U-values
The Nanogel is placed between the polycarbonate surfaces of the rooflights, resulting in U-values of 1.31 W/m2K for a 16mm unit and 0.89 W/m2K for a 25mm unit. The company says acoustic insulation is improved, and that good light transmission and diffusion characteristics provide well-lit high-quality internal environments without 鈥渉ot spots鈥 or defined shadows. The polycarbonate rooflights weigh 10-15% less than the thermally equivalent glass alternatives, giving a 鈥済reater degree of application freedom鈥.
