Contractor begins work on civils package of Four Ashes plant in Satffordshire

North-east-based Clugston Construction has begun work on the 拢40m civils package on a 拢100m waste-to-energy plant in Staffordshire.

The Four Ashes plant is a joint venture between Veolia and French process contractor CNIM and once complete will handle 300,000 tonnes of waste a year and generate 23MW 鈥 enough electricity to power 32,000 homes.

Stephen Martin, Clugston chief executive, said: 鈥淭his is a really exciting project to be involved with, one of the most challenging and exciting projects of its kind in the UK today.
