Firm wins another job through YORbuild framework
Bam Construction has won an 拢8m contract to build new facilities for a school in West Yorkshire, according to industry sources. Work involves part demolition of a building and construction of new facilities for the Carleton Community School in Pontefract.
The two storey school is currently undergoing explorative works because of previous fire damage.
Wakefield Metropolitan District Council appointed Bam from a field which included Willmott Dixon, Wates, Interserve and Allenbuild.
Designs for the new facilities building have been drawn up by NPS North-east.
It is understood the contract was procured through the YORbuild framework and follows a YORbuild success for the same company on the Humberside custody suite project, announced earlier this week.
Matthew Garnett will project manage the scheme, leading the same team which completed four new academic buildings for York University. Main construction is expected to commence in May.
BAM Construction refused to comment.
