Firm to build first phase of the 拢42m redevelopment of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
Contractor Galliford Try has been announced as preferred bidder for the first phase of the 拢42m redevelopment of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
The firm鈥檚 Morrison Construction arm has been appointed by the South East Scotland hub to deliver a 15,500m2 mental health facility at the hospital.
The new facility will provide services for the adult acute mental health inpatient service, intensive psychiatric care, a national brain injury unit, mental health rehabilitation and older people鈥檚 mental health assessment and treatment services.
Galliford Try鈥檚 facilities maintenance business has also been appointed to provide hard maintenance and lifecycle management over the next 25-years. This contract is worth around 拢18m over the period.
Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said he was 鈥渄elighted鈥 the firm had won the job.
