Rugged laptop manufacturer Getac has launched the V100, which features a sunlight-readable LCD screen that uses an active anti-reflective process to block reflected light, increasing visibility, even under the brightest conditions.
Designed to meet the high rugged standards of the military, government, field service, manufacturing and health care industries, the GETAC V100 is fully compliant with MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards, making it capable of withstanding heavy rain and spillages, and is resistant to damage from airborne dust. The removable hard drive is shielded by a protection mechanism to prevent damage during operation. It also incorporates anti-vibration rubber, which serves as a shock absorber during transport, and anti-shock housing to protect it if bumped or dropped. The company claims the V100 will work in temperatures down to –20°C. The V100 is one of the first computers with an ultra-mobile footprint to provide such advanced features.
