Multi-service beams are helping to meet the lighting, acoustic and energy-efficiency requirements at the new Horbury High School in Wakefield.
The building incorporates exposed concrete soffits to provide thermal buffering, below which are suspended SAS System 600 acoustic lighting rafts. These are made up of sound-absorbing perforated panels that incorporate luminaires as well as radiant heating panels. Sloped debris protectors were also built into the top of the rafts to ensure rubbish would not build up.
