- Leaderflush Shapland has carried out cradle-to-grave research on the carbon impacts of its products and facilities. As a result, the embodied carbon is now included on all its quotations and invoices.
- Senior Architectural Systems has launched a website for specifiers and fabricators giving details of its ranges of doors and windows and curtain walls. Door and window control manufacturer, GEZE UK, has produced an e-guide for architects and contractors that provides an overview of BS83000:2009, which covers the design of buildings and approaches to meet the needs of disabled people. The e-guide is available at New Century Windows has launched a website for its Zen-fold bi-fold door range which provides information for installers and specifiers. Mumford & Wood, the manufacturer of timber windows and doorsets, has published a 56-page product design guide featuring both its conservation and contemporary products.
- Life-cycle assessment carried out by Davis Langdon shows that Wood Window Alliance (WWA) standard windows are carbon-negative. The study used PAS 2050 methodology to measure the embodied carbon of a selection of WWA standard A and C rated windows over 30, 60 and 100-year service lives.
- Jeld-Wen has released a brochure of its range of composite, timber and SecureFit apartment entrance doors. It contains details of its complete range of external doorsets, including technical specifications.
