Gerflor has launched Saga, a modular PVC floor tile that is an alternative to carpet tiles

The range has been developed with raised access flooring in mind as the 500mm x 500mm tiles may be positioned and repositioned as required. The tiles have a 0.7mm 100% PVC wearlayer, making them suitable for heavy traffic areas such as offices, hotels, retail and public areas.

There is an extensive pallette of colours and patterns, ranging from natural wood and textile to shades of beige, fresh blue, grey and marble. The company says that a major benefit of the 4.6mm-thick Saga tile is that it has a calendered interlayer, which helps it overcome the difficulty of irregular subfloors and prevents their indentations transferring to the surface. A smooth polyurethane treated surface ensures easy maintenance, stain resistance and hygiene, while the tile’s PVC and cork foam backing makes the flooring quiet and comfortable underfoot.
