Sports and teaching centre will be built on Avery Hill Campus at University of Greenwich.
Contractor Willmott Dixon has been awarded an £8.2m contract to build a sports and teaching centre at the University of Greenwich.
The contract involves building a sports and teaching facility at the university’s Avery Hill Campus on Avery Hill Road. Work on the project, which will be designed by Dannatt Johnson Architects, is expected to start this month.
The two buildings will contain a lecture theatre, sports hall and general teaching rooms for the School of Health and Social Care.
The project builds on a succession of leisure centre projects won by Willmott Dixonover the past year. It has previously secured a £12 million project to build a leisure complex at Walton-on-Thames in Surrey for DC Leisure, a £7.4m David Lloyd Leisure club in Southend, a £4.5m ROKO club in Gillingham and a £2.3m contract from Test Valley Borough Council to extend the Rapids Leisure Centre in Romsey.
