Contract at HMP Lindholme in Doncaster takes contractor's work for the Prison Service past 拢20m.

Willmott Dixon Construction has picked up a 拢12m prison rebuilding contract to upgrade HMP Lindholme in Doncaster.

Work to build a visitor centre, segregation unit, gym block and kitchen at the prison will start in the spring, and is expected to finish in April 2007.

An existing education block will be refurbished, and several other buildings will be converted into education and workshop facilities.

Willmott Dixon鈥檚 Leeds office will take charge of the contracting, which forms part of the group鈥檚 national strategic alliance agreement with HM Prison Services.

The deal means that Willmott Dixon鈥檚 work for HMPS is now worth more than 拢20m. A similar scheme at HMP Nottingham is already under way.
