The retail and residential project on Berwick Street is being built for client PMB Holdings, owned and chaired by property magnate Peter Beckwith.
Berwick Street in London’s Soho district was the street used for the cover of Oasis’s 22 million selling album which came out in 1995.
ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV understands the job to turn a host of shops, including fabric retailers and record stores, into a new hotel, residential and retail, has run into problems with the groundworks.
Interserve declined to comment but scotched reports the job was up to a year late. PMB has been contacted for comment.
The news comes as Interserve said it will be carrying out less construction work in the capital with its head of construction in the capital, Jeremy James, leaving the business last month.
Interserve’s fit-out business Paragon will continue to target work in London but the firm’s building business is now expected to concentrate more on the regions instead including strongholds such as Birmingham.
