Construction on Sheffield project to begin immediately
Vinci has received the go ahead to create a new school on the site of the existing Bradfield School at Worrall in Sheffield. Construction on the 拢22m project begins immediately with completion scheduled for Summer 2013, ahead of the new school year.
The new split level school has a two and three-storey design and will cover over 8,600m虏. It will be constructed while the existing facility continues to operate. Once complete, the school will have a four court sports hall, fitness studio and a large main hall.
Keith Shivers, regional director with Vinci Construction UK, said:
鈥淥ur prime concern on this significant new project will be to ensure that all of our demolition and construction works are co-ordinated with the school to minimise any disruption to pupils and staff.
鈥淲e will be bringing all the experience and know-how we have gained; working extensively in the education sector across the UK and in Sheffield, to the Bradfield School project and we aim to deliver a new school facility that enhances learning for all its pupils.鈥
Keith G. Holmes, assistant head teacher at Bradfield School explained:
鈥淭he school has already forged a close relationship with Vinci Construction UK during the design and planning stages and we are all looking forward to the next part of this exciting era.鈥
