John Robinson died last week when 15 floors of scaffolding collapsed at a new hotel in Milton Keynes.
The builder who died three days after 15 floors of scaffolding collapsed in Milton Keynes was named over the weekend.
John Robinson, 49, was a father-of-three with six grandchildren. Robinson died in hospital on Friday after Tuesday's fall at a hotel in Milton Keynes. Two others were dragged safely out of the wreckage.
Robinson's widow and family said: "We would ask that the media respect our privacy at this time and allow us to grieve in peace."
Up to 200 workmen were at the Witan Gate site but many were on a lunch break when the accident happened. The 279-bedroom Jurys Inn Hotel was due to open in June.
Eamonn Laverty, managing director of building firm McAleer and Rushe, spoke of his sympathy for Mr Robinson's relatives. He said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the family."
The HSE is currently investigating the incident.
