Highways agency funding falls by a third as Department of Transport reveals details of its budget cuts
The Department for Transport reveals that TfL funding will shrink by 28% and Highways Agency capital spend will be cut by almost a third.
Spelling out what the Comprehensive Spending Review will mean in detail, the department has released a breakdown of how its overall spending cut of 15% in real terms will affect individual projects.
The Transport for London resource budget will decline from 拢1.934bn in 2010-11 to 拢1.517bn four years later, a drop of 28% when inflation is taken into account.
The Highways Agency will have its capital funding cut from 拢1.571bn this coming year to 拢1.040bn at the end of the CSR period.
