Skanska UK鈥檚 chief executive has said the company has to 鈥渓earn lessons鈥 after being forced to write down 拢27m on three healthcare projects.
David Fison would not name the projects but Skanska revealed the three PPP schemes were worth almost 拢1.2bn. He insisted the 拢1bn Barts and Royal London scheme was not involved.
Fison said: 鈥淣obody likes to say they鈥檝e made a mistake but we鈥檝e got to turn it to our advantage next time.鈥
In a statement Skanska said the scope of the schemes had changed, resulting in 鈥渟ubstantial increases in the cost鈥.
Fison added: 鈥淲e identified problems last year but underestimated their extent.鈥
