Racing circuit will be transformed over next 20 years under masterplan
Consultant Terence O鈥橰ourke has received provisional agreement to grant planning permission for a massive development of Silverstone racing circuit.
The plans for over 400,000 m2 of development incorporate a business park, technology park, education campus and three hotels at the home of the British Grand Prix. There will also be spectator facilities a welcome centre and event and leisure spaces built.
The plans were drawn up with the help of architect Cube Design, landscape architect MacGregor Smith, transport consultant PBA and development manager Bloombridge.
Bridget Pearce, technical director at Terence O鈥橰ourke, said: 鈥淭his is a huge opportunity to create a sustainable leisure, business and technology community, the likes of which have never been seen before all on one site in the UK.鈥
The construction work is expected to start in 2013 and last 20 years with the project will being completed in phases.
A section 106 agreement, which will address outstanding planning compliance issues, is currently being drawn up between Terence O鈥橰ourke and council planners before planning permission is granted.
