HOK's designs for pit lane and paddocks unveiled as part of motor-racing venue upgrade
These are the first images of HOK Sport鈥檚 pit lane and paddocks for Silverstone.
The 拢35m complex features garages, a race control building, media centre, VIP spectator zones and a new pit straight.
It is the first phase of a 10-year programme of works at Silverstone designed to bring the classic motor-racing destination into the 21st century.
The masterplan, also by HOK and expected to be worth 拢100m, envisages two hotels, a test centre, a business park and homes on and around the circuit.
The British Racing Drivers Club, which owns the circuit, wants to make Silverstone more green and is considering a CHP system for the site.
The complex will form the centrepiece of the British Formula 1 Grand Prix, which is held at the Northamptonshire circuit every summer.
The BRDC has approved the designs, and the first phase will go to planning in the next few weeks.
