Stride Treglown-designed scheme is first phase of University’s regeneration masterplan
The University of Salford is seeking bidders for the first phase of a masterplan to regenerate the Manchester campus.
The project will involve the construction of a 16,000m² seven storey arts building designed by Stride Treglown worth £38m.
The overall project masterplanned by Gifford also includes a public square and access routes to link the university and a new student village with the nearby Salford Crescent railway station.
The new arts building is expected to be completed by 2013 with the rest of the masterplan scheduled for completion by 2015. The first phase project will go out to tender in November.
