The Prince of Wales opened the newly refurbished Royal Hall in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, on Tuesday.
The grade II-listed theatre, which was designed by celbrated theatre architect Frank Matcham and opened in 1903, was once likened by Prince Charles to an “elegant and lovely old lady who had fallen on somewhat hard times”. Contractor HBG carried out extensive remedial works, worth £10.7m, over two years.
