National Trust property in Wales is part of £35m green retrofit pilot scheme
Plas Newydd in Wales is one of the first National Trust properties to undergo a green energy retrofit as part of a £35m scheme.
The house will be hooked up to one of the largest marine heat pumps in the UK and will be fitted with secondary glazing as part of five pilot projects for the scheme.
The National Trust will monitor the performance of the £3.5m worth of projects with a view to spending 10 times that amount on works to green the energy supply across its estate by 2020.
