Redevelopment of South Bank site would see the creation of thousands of new jobs
Commercial Estates Group (CEG) has submitted plans for a 拢350m development at a 3.52 hectare (8.69 acre) site in South Bank, Leeds.
The application seeks detailed planning permission for two office developments with ground floor retail and leisure totalling 26,100m2 and outline planning permission for mixed-use development of up to 103,900m2 of offices, retail, leisure, hotel, health, education and community uses, as well as 750 new homes along with new public spaces and landscaping.
CEG鈥檚 development is looking to create workplaces, shops, cafes and restaurants, enable thousands of new jobs and work in partnership with Employment Leeds to provide on-site training, education, upskilling and apprenticeship opportunities during construction, design buildings ranging from five to 40-storeys and retain the two-storey printworks building fa莽ade.
It is working with architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStufios) on the project, which secured the International Tall 好色先生TV of the Year Award in 2010 for Broadcasting Place in Leeds.
CEG said the South Bank area of Leeds has the potential to double the size of Leeds city centre, creating 35,000 new jobs and thousands of new homes.
