Robert Adam Architects' design for a new gallery in New Bond Street, London has won planning permission
A new art gallery designed by Robert Adam Architects has been given the green light by Westminster City Council.
The building on New Bond Street, designed by Robert Adam director George Saumarez Smith, has been designed for fine art dealer Richard Green Galleries.
As the area is in a conservation area, the building鈥檚 fa莽ade was designed to respond to the traditional character of New Bond Street, and will display a neoclassical sculpture by Scottish artist Alexander Stoddart.
Saumarez Smith said: 鈥淭he works that will be displayed here date from any time after 1900. Just as modern pictures often look best in antique frames, traditional architecture is very well suited to the display of modern art鈥.
