Morgan Sindall's development arm will build a civic and cultural quarter in the Yorkshire town
Contractor Morgan Sindall’s regeneration arm has won a £300m contract to build a civic and cultural quarter in Doncaster.
Muse Developments won the contract from Doncaster council for the Waterdale area regeneration scheme. However, the scheme is dependent upon receiving grant funding from regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, with a decision expected in August this year.
If approval is received the first phase, to include a new performance venue for the Yorkshire town, will be complete by 2012.
Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall, said the contract demonstrated Muse’s ability to win long-term regeneration partnership projects despite a challenging environment in the urban regeneration market.
