Scheme in partnership with public sector includes bus station, hotel, leisure and health facilities as well as shops, offices and homes
Morgan Sindall's development arm Muse is to deliver a 拢350m mixed-use scheme in Swindon.
The regeneration project features up to 160,000m2 of offices and homes as well as shops, restaurants, a new hotel, and improved leisure facilities.
At the centre of the proposed scheme is Union Square, which will include public spaces, an improved bus interchange, a multi-storey car park and new facilities for the local primary care trust.
Muse's public sector partners on the project are English Partnerships, the South West of England Regional Development Agency and Swindon Borough Council.
Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall, said: 鈥淢use Developments is a market leader in the provision of mixed-use, urban regeneration projects, and this agreement, which is for one of the largest ever urban regeneration schemes in the South-west, is testament to our ability to deliver such projects.鈥
The scheme is scheduled to start in 2010 and is expected to take 10 years.
