Firm to provide technical help in channelling $50m funds to boost struggling areas
Mott MacDonald's management consulting arm has won a deal to help the World Bank drive economic recovery in areas of Indonesia affected by the 2004 tsunami.
The firm has been appointed to a technical assistance role in a project set up to channel a grant fund of $50m dollars towards economy-boosting projects in the provinces of Aceh and Nias.
Geert van Boekel, BMB Mott MacDonald's project manager, said: 鈥淲e are proud that we have been given this challenging task that will allow BMB Mott MacDonald to be part of this important reconstruction process.
鈥淚t is estimated that more than 5,000 people will find temporary or permanent work as a direct consequence of our project.鈥
Projects ranging from fish processing to palm oil production will apply for money from the fund. Successful proposals will be selected by December this year.
