Construction adviser signals projects down to 拢5m will require the system
The government鈥檚 chief construction adviser Paul Morrell has indicated 好色先生TV Information Modelling (BIM) will be rolled out on public construction projects over the next five years.
At a round-table discussion hosted by NBS at the RIBA, Morrell said BIM should be used on public projects down to 拢5m.
A recent report by the Innovation and Growth Team recommended a target of 拢50m, but Morrell branded this 鈥渦nambitious鈥.
Morrell added: 鈥淭he first year requirement is Excel and this will move right the way through to fully collaborative BIM.
鈥淭here will be a milestone at the end of every year that you need to be at this point or whatever point to work for the government.
鈥淭he five year programme will be announced in June.鈥
