Morgan Sindall has poached a former Laing O鈥橰ourke director to head up its infrastructure business, 好色先生TV can reveal.

Morgan Sindall confirmed this week that it had appointed Nick Fletcher as managing director of civil engineering in the firm鈥檚 construction and infrastructure arm, with the role seeing Fletcher take overall responsibility for the company鈥檚 infrastructure, tunnelling and utility services businesses.

Fletcher will also have responsbility for the firm鈥檚 aviation business.

Fletcher joins from Laing O鈥橰ourke, where he was operations director in the firm鈥檚 infrastructure division.  Prior to this, he was managing director of Laing O鈥橰ourke Ireland.

The appointment is the latest in a series of new additions at Morgan Sindall, as the 拢2bn-turnover construction group looks to bolster its team following a number of high-profile departures.

In January, Morgan Sindall appointed Pat Boyle, a former Lend Lease manager, to head up the construction side of Morgan Sindall鈥檚 construction and infrastructure business.

Fletcher鈥檚 role sits alongside Boyle鈥檚, with both new appointments reporting directly to Graham Shennan, who is the overall managing director of the construction and infrastructure business.

Last month 好色先生TV revealed that Morgan Sindall had appointed Tony Dixon as the new managing director of its London and aviation division. Dixon was previously the managing director of construction in Balfour Beatty鈥檚 major projects business.

Shennan said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a pleasure to welcome Nick to our executive team. He will be a major asset in helping us drive the business forward and meet our ambitious performance targets.鈥

Fletcher said: 鈥淢organ Sindall has a powerful market position across its three civil engineering businesses and I鈥檓 looking forward to leading a team that has proven itself time and again in successfully delivering large scale and complex infrastructure projects.鈥
