Scheme designed by Make sits on the corner of Ropemaker Street and Finsbury Pavement
Islington council has given the green light to a Make-designed 27-storey stepped tower scheme just north of Moorgate tube station.
The scheme is being delivered by development manager Core on behalf of one of Asia鈥檚 richest families, the Kadoories, via investment firm Old Park Lane Management.
Current head of the family Sir Michael Kadoorie is also chairman of hotel firm The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, which is in the process of developing a new Peninusla Hotel by Hyde Park Corner at 1-5 Grosvenor Place.
Make鈥檚 20 Ropemaker Street scheme will rise up to 128m tall at its highest point providing 415,000ft2 of office space with retail on the ground floor.
It will also will feature five roof terraces, while the reception desk at the entrance will also be able to double as a bar.
Frank Filskow, partner at Make, said: 鈥淭he articulated form will deliver varied floorplates designed to foster a community of businesses and enhance the wellness of the occupants.
鈥淰irtually every floor has access to outdoor roof terraces or balconies to create a better workplace.鈥

The scheme is aiming for completion in 2022.
