Former director will join Balfour Beatty as major projects director of commercial work in the construction division
Vince Lydon, a former director at Bovis Lend Lease, now Lend Lease Construction, is leaving the firm for rival Balfour Beatty. He will become major projects director for commercial building in the firm鈥檚 construction arm.
In his time at Lend Lease, Lydon worked on the construction of the athletes鈥 village in the Olympic park and the Spinningfields scheme in Manchester. He was most recently a project manager at the Australian contractor.
Lend Lease鈥檚 UK construction business has gone through a spate of management changes over the last few years. A number of high-profile directors have left the firm including Julian Daniel, executive general manager for England and Wales, who departed last year.
The company has also gone through two chief executives in three years with Murray Coleman leaving his post in October 2008 only to have his replacement Nick Pollard leave less than two years later, in June 2010.
The athletes鈥 village also ran into difficulty recently with the final two plots handed over to the Olympic Delivery Authority over a month later than planned.
However, Michael Dyke, managing director of European project management and construction at Lend Lease, told 好色先生TV last month: 鈥淭hose challenging decisions have been made to future-proof the firm and now we鈥檙e in a stable position.鈥
