Kingsgate House redevelopment is designed by Lynch Architects
Land Securities鈥 plans to redevelop Victoria have moved forward after Westminster council granted planning consent to redevelop Kingsgate House.
The development, at 66-74 Victoria Street and designed by Lynch Architects, involves two new buildings replacing the existing office block.
The project will provide 203,000ft虏 of office space and 102 residential apartments along with new public realm including a courtyard bordered by new shops and restaurants.
Colette O鈥橲hea, head of development at Land Securities鈥 London portfolio, said: 鈥淰ictoria is changing. We began our transformation of the area with Cardinal Place and we are already on site at three other schemes. Kingsgate House is another key stage in our plans to create the new West End destination.鈥
Land Securities announced in January last year that it would start work at Wellington House, where 58 of the 59 apartments have now been pre-sold, and 62 Buckingham Gate where construction is well under way.
These are due to complete in summer 2012 and spring 2013 respectively. Another scheme, 123 Victoria Street, an office development which received planning approval in 2010, will complete in summer 2012.
Land Securities hopes to begin construction on Kingsgate House next spring, with completion scheduled for 2015.
