Contractor to remodel depot and surrounding facilities at London鈥檚 Willesden Junction
Laing O鈥橰ourke has won a 拢22m contract to remodel London Overground鈥檚 Willesden Junction depot.
The contractor will remodel track at Willesden Junction; modify the train maintenance depot; and provide additional sidings at Wembley to accommodate longer, five-car London Overground trains.
The job is part of a 拢320m capacity improvement programme being undertaken by Transport for London (TfL) to improve the capacity of London Overground.
Mike Stubbs, TfL鈥檚 director of London Overground, said: 鈥淭his is a key contract in the development of the network as we work to provide 25% more capacity as part of TfL鈥檚 continued investment in London Overground.
鈥淚t will ensure we remain able to meet the growing demand for London Overground services which 鈥 at 89% - have one of the highest levels of passenger satisfaction in London and the South East.鈥
