Wins including 2012 athletes village and Pembroke power station lead to predicted revenue of 拢300m

John Sisk bagged 拢200m of contract wins in the second half of 2009 and is heading for a 拢300m turnover in 2010, almost double the current level.

John Sisk, the UK operating arm of Irish firm Sisk, predicted a turnover of 拢300m in 2010 in a trading statement this week, a huge increase from levels in 2009 (拢161m) and 2008 (拢226m). The statement also revealed that the firm recorded a 拢1.5m pre-tax profit in 2009, compared with 拢2.5m in 2008.

The firm said it is chasing 鈥渕ajor projects and civils capabilities鈥 and has 鈥渓everaged group capability鈥 to achieve the 拢300m target. Work secured recently includes the 拢48m A477 job in Pembrokeshire, the 拢78m Athletes Village at the London Olympic site and the 拢44m Pembroke Power Station.

Paul Wilson, managing director of the firm, said: 鈥淥ur continued investment through 2009, with the support of our parent the Sisk Group, will enable us to deliver larger value and civils projects. This investment is paying dividends already and, as a consequence, we expect to deliver a significant growth in turnover to 拢300m this year.鈥
