Winning team includes architect BDP
A team featuring John Sisk and architect BDP has won a design competition to build a new clinical building for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The work is for phase 4 of the central London children鈥檚 hospital with the new building set to become the hospital鈥檚 new 鈥榝ront door鈥. It includes new public realm along with winter gardens.
The Sisk pairing beat rival bids from Carillion, which had linked up with Eric Parry, the architect behind the planned tallest tower in the City of London at 1 Undershaft, and a pitch from Skanska and US architect HOK.
The competition was organised by RIBA Competitions with the jury including Peter Steer, chief executive of the Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
