Countryside Properties and L&Q set to create 2,600 homes in Ealing Council鈥檚 largest housing estate
A planning permission has been granted for the regeneration of the London Borough of Ealing鈥檚 largest housing estate 鈥 South Acton.
The joint venture between Countryside Properties and L&Q has passed the first stage of planning permission to create 167 homes.
Both companies were granted permission by the London Borough of Ealing to Acton Gardens LLP.
An outline planning application will cover the rest of the estate鈥檚 regeneration, a total of around 2,600 homes on the prominent 40-acre site.
Councillor Hitesh Tailor, Ealing Council Cabinet Member for Housing, said: 鈥淭his is a really significant step forward in a very important project to revitalise South Acton.
鈥淚 am sure residents will be as pleased as I am that the next phase in this long awaited regeneration scheme can now get underway.鈥
Work on the housing estate is being planned to start in 2011, with construction expected to finish in 2013.
