A Scott Brownrigg-designed £250m sports village in Cardiff has been granted planning permission
The Cardiff International Sports Village (ISV), being developed by Greenbank Partnerships Ltd, through its subsidiary company Helium Miracle 113.
The scheme has received full detailed planning, subject to the signing of a section 106 agreement, for the construction of a 3,000 Olympic-standard Ice Arena, which will be home to the Cardiff Devil’s Ice Hockey team.
Due to go onsite in August, the venue will also include a Cardiff Devils shop, cafes and viewing galleries.
Cardiff council also gave outline approval for the later phases in the ISV development, which include a 250m indoor ski-slope, above a 1,300 space car park, an indoor snow play centre and a 32-storey mixed-use tower which will accommodate an art gallery, a 60-bed hotel, 62 apartments, a roof top viewing gallery and a ‘winter garden’.
