Contractor appointed on first development by the new Homes and Communities Agency
Galliford Try has been appointed to redevelop the Gloscat College site in Gloucester, the first by the fledgling Homes and Communities Agency since its inauguration on 1 December.
The scheme, which is likely to involve construction of as many as 350 homes, is part of the Greyfriars regeneration project.
Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: 鈥淲e are looking forward to working closely with the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver a new sustainable community on this important heritage site.鈥
The Homes and Communities Agency was formed by a merger of UK government bodies English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation.
The 鈥渟uper-agency鈥 will have more than 拢17bn of funding to help councils and regional bodies to build houses and improve existing infrastructure.
