Galliford Try has been awarded the 拢150m redevelopment of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital
Galliford Try has been appointed as preferred supply chain partner on the 拢150m redevelopment of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.
The main programme of works includes a new 拢80m 鈥楬ot Block鈥 for all critical care, surgery and other complex care procedures, replacing several wards, complete refurbishment of the emergency department and the site鈥檚 energy centre, as well as the expansion of the car park. Completion is expected in 2019.
Work is scheduled to commence immediately to deliver a new 拢6m office block which is required to enable delivery of the main works.
The scheme was won via the ProCure21+ framework. The work will be delivered by Galliford Try鈥檚 Northern Home Counties business unit from its newly-opened base in Luton.
The business unit is working on a number of major schemes, including an Ibis Hotel and cycle park at Cambridge station, and carrying out works at Stansted airport under the Manchester Airport Group framework.
Peter Truscott (pictured), chief executive of Galliford Try, said: 鈥淭his prestigious scheme is one of the largest on the ProCure21+ framework and is a fantastic win for our business.
Galliford Try has a growing presence in the healthcare market and this is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our capability in delivering complex public sector healthcare projects.鈥
