The eight-storey office building is part of the 26-acre masterplan to create a new city quarter in Cambridge
Galliford Try has confirmed it is to build developer Brookgate鈥檚 拢87m office block at 50-60 Station Road in Cambridge.
Designed by architect Grimshaw, the firm behind the upcoming expansion of Heathrow Airport, the two eight-storey blocks will provide 163,600 sq ft of space with retail at ground level.
The project, which is part of the 26-acre masterplan for a new city quarter in Cambridge from Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners, is due for completion in the first quarter of 2019.
Galliford Try has already completed a new Ibis hotel and cycle park adjacent to Cambridge train station at the development.
Stephen Scard, managing director of Galliford Try鈥檚 Southern business, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to be working once again with Brookgate on this exciting scheme which constitutes the largest speculative office building in Cambridge.鈥
