The Olympic Delivery Authority has admitted it blundered when claiming in its annual report that the Populous-designed Olympic stadium was on the shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize.

The 鈥榥omination鈥 for Britain鈥檚 highest architectural prize emerged in the ODA鈥檚 annual report and accounts 2011/12 in a section about award achievements.

Under the 2012 awards section, the accounts state: 鈥淩IBA: London Awards (shortlisted for Stirling Prize) 鈥 Olympic Stadium鈥.

However, an ODA spokesman said: 鈥淎s a result of a production error, the Olympic Delivery Authority鈥檚 2011-12 Annual Report wrongly stated that the Olympic Stadium has been short-listed for the 2012 RIBA Stirling Prize. This is not correct. However, the Olympic Stadium has been placed on a longlist, along with RIBA regional award winners. We apologise for any confusion.鈥

In the report, the ODA also revealed that 拢1.1bn of public money has been spent on Olympic venues since 2006 while a total of 拢1.3bn has been spent on the Olympic village and 拢1.8bn on site preparation and infrastructure.
