Arabian Park Hotel offers free meal to anyone with proof of redundancy

A hotel in Dubai is offering all visitors a free meal 鈥� provided they show they have been made redundant by the economic slump.

The Arabian Park Hotel said that all unemployed dinner-seekers had to do was show up with their lay-off letter in hand.

Hotel manager Mark Lee said: 鈥淏eing made redundant at this time of the year is no fun at all and we鈥檙e trying to give a little bit of festive cheer back.鈥� He added that the offer applies to those not living in Dubai as well.

Lee said although overall sales since the start of the three-star hotel鈥檚 financial year were up on last time, business in November had slipped 6% compared to the previous year.

State-owned developer Nakheel recently said it was shedding 500 jobs and was forced to mothball the Trump Towers hotel and residential scheme.
