Firms sought for Victoria Dock tunnel portal
Crossrail has advertised for a firm to build a £50m tunnel portal at Victoria Dock, east London.
The portal, contract C340, will house the boring machines that construct the running tunnels and form a transition point between the underground and overground sections of Crossrail a well as an evacuation point.
As well as construction of the 355m long and 12m wide portal, the contract includes the realignment of approximately 420m of the Docklands Light Railway between Custom House and Victoria Dock Stations to release the site for the portal. There may also be scope to include maintenance of the scheme in the contract.
Pre qualification questionnaires must be completed by 12.00 on 24 August 2011 on Crossrail tenders website
