It will build 72 homes - just under a third of which will be affordable
Housebuilder Countryside has been appointed by Hackney Council to deliver the St. Leonard鈥檚 Court development in Hoxton, London.
Designed by East London practice Child Graddon Lewis, work will start on the scheme next year and will feature 72 new homes. Just under a third (32%) will be affordable, including 21% social rented and 11% shared ownership.
The development, part of Hackney Council鈥檚 borough-wide 2,760-home estate regeneration programme, will be situated along New North Road and will be close to Shoreditch Park and Tech City, as well as Hoxton and Old Street station.
Philip Glanville, mayor of Hackney, said: 鈥淟ondon is experiencing an unprecedented housing crisis, so I鈥檓 proud that Hackney is building the genuinely affordable homes we need to respond to the challenge.
鈥淭his council-led development being built by Countryside will mean more modern, high-quality homes for social rent and shared ownership for Hackney residents.鈥
