Work on upgrading London鈥檚 power infrastructure will begin later this year
Costain has won a 拢200m contract from the National Grid to build a high voltage electricity cable tunnel in London.
The 33km-long tunnel is part of the National Grids鈥檚 拢600m investment to modernise the electricity transmission network in the capital.
The tunnel will run from Hackney in the north east to Willesden and Kensal Green in the north west down to Wimbledon in the south. Work will start later this year, with the tunnelling being completed by end of 2014 and with all associated works completed in November 2018.
