Over three quarters of construction apprentices say they are very satisfied
Construction apprentices have the highest satisfaction rates of any trainees in any sector, according to government figures.
Over three quarters (77%) of those undertaking construction, planning and built environment traineeships said they were very satisfied with their programmes.
The figures released by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills also showed construction trainees were more likely to report positive work outcomes than any other group.
Skills minister John Hayes said: 鈥淭hese results are a credit to the construction industry and training providers. The wider construction sector is currently experiencing exciting new challenges 鈥 with house building on the rise, the shift to green technologies and key major infrastructure projects.
鈥淪killed construction workers have a major role to play in the government鈥檚 drive to promote growth. Excellent training is key to a successful career in the industry with apprentices already reporting high levels of satisfaction.
鈥淭he survey results are excellent and we are on track to build the best apprenticeship system our country has ever seen.
鈥淚 am relentless in my focus on improving quality and we will use these valuable results to identify areas where even more work can be done. Many employers have told us that they would like a greater say over the training that is available and we will make sure they get it.鈥
