Training came as part of a scheme to encourage women to join the industry
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) trained 248 women during the building of the London 2012 Olympic Park, as part of a scheme to encourage women to join the industry.
The 鈥榃omen into Construction鈥 programme has been extended across London by building firms since August last year and has trained a further 155 women on construction sites.
Women make up just over 1% of on-site employees in the UK.
Kath Moore, project manager, Women into Construction, said: 鈥淭he 鈥榃omen into Construction鈥 scheme has been a great success with half of the initial cohort having gone on to secure permanent employment in the industry.
鈥淪chemes such as this help support the development of a diverse workforce in the UK construction industry - with women coming from a range of different backgrounds and circumstances.鈥
The 鈥榃omen into Construction鈥 programme is run by BeOnsite and is supported by CITB-ConstructionSkills.
According to the ODA 40,000 construction workers worked on the Games venues in total.
