Contractor grabs both construction and facilities management jobs

Contractor Carillion has won a bundle of contracts in Oman worth over 拢100m.

The firm鈥檚 Omani arm, Carillion Alawi has been awarded three construction contracts and a facilities management contract, together worth over 拢100m.

The contracts will see it design and build a new air traffic control tower, air traffic and meteorology complex, crash, fire and rescue facility, data centre and training facilities at Muscat International Airport, for the Ministry of Transport and Communication. Work will start this month for completion in 2015.

In addition it has also won a 13-month contract for Sahara Hospitality to extend existing accommodation facilities at Oman鈥檚 Nim鈥檙 oilfield, and a nine-month contract for Khalid Al Zubair for an extension to the Barr Al Jissah Resort.

The final contract is a three-year integrated facilities management job for Bank Muscat鈥檚 new headquarters.

Carillion chief executive, John McDonough, said he was 鈥渄elighted鈥� to win the contracts.
