Firm will construct new facilities for Stafford College after fire destroyed workshops
Bam Construct has been awarded a 拢13m contract to rebuild fire ravaged facilities at Stafford College.
The firm will construct a landmark building at the former workshops site on the campus.
Many parts of the workshops were unusable following an electrical fire which destroyed the upper part of the building.
Since then the building has been demolished with students now taught in the nearby Palmbourne Technology Centre.
The building will provide modern kitchens for hospitality students as well as a new student-run restaurant.
There will also be a learning resource centre comprising a library and other information facilities.
Bam Construct project manager David Ellis said: 鈥淲e are delighted to bring our expertise to provide progressive, contemporary and sustainable facilities for the students of Stafford College. This is an exciting project to be involved in.鈥
The project is scheduled for completion in Summer 2012.
