Wilkinson Eyre Architects has designed this 5,000m2 curvilinear building to stimulate public interaction and debate about human rights.
The building is to be developed in Milan by Amnesty International, and will contain a variety of inside-outside, public-private spaces that will encompass activities ranging from leisure to learning, debate to design and theatre to activism, and inspire visitors to take an interest in human rights issues. No site has been earmarked yet, so it is designed to fit into several. Based on the geometry of sea shells, the structure will be constructed from precast concrete.
