Amec has posted a pre-tax profit of 拢151.6m for the year to 31 December 2007.
Turnover rose 11% from 拢2.1bn to 拢2.4bn in what Samir Brikho, the chief executive, called a 鈥測ear of transformation鈥.
The growth was largely the result of the strong performance of the natural resources and power and process divisions.
In the previous year the group was 拢27m in the red because of loss-making construction contracts. It has now sold the building and PPP divisions to focus on project management.
Brikho said: 鈥淥ur end markets in the energy, power and process sectors remain strong, and significant progress is expected in each of the group鈥檚 core divisions.鈥
