This week鈥檚 #buildingdoodle sketch is by Patrick Spears, architect at bptw partnership. The mixed-use scheme for developer Lindhill is redeveloping the former Abbey Sports Centre at Axe Street in Barking to create 150 homes and 4,000m2 of commercial and retail space - including a cinema and office spaces. Spears says: 鈥淭his sketch shows how the landmark building will be seen from an adjacent junction as well as highlighting the surrounding public realm and Barking town centre context; you can see the town hall tower and 鈥楲emonade鈥� building in the background. I have a habit of inking in windows fully in black - it may be old-school but it makes for a striking drawing.鈥�
